Formerly
the Egypt Petroleum
Show, EGYPES was the virtual opposite of transitional
change, bargaining for more time to acidify
the ocean, melt
our ice caps, and raise
ocean and sea levels, etc. More about brokering fossil fuels and equipment for
oil exploration, making deals that prolong the use of
outdated energy systems that cause global warming and
climate change.
The event is held under the patronage of
His
Excellency Abdel
Fattah el Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of
Egypt,
supported by the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources.
A Red
Flag organization, seeking to assuage continued
exploration efforts, exports of death dealing carcinogenic
particulates, from diesel
and petrol powered vehicles.
We
should be introducing Carbon Taxes, to pay for the genocidal
sinking
of islands and reduced fish
stocks, a major issue as to food
security, as is the reduction in agricultural
land from soil degradation.
They
seek to mitigate such carnage, by arguing about the cost of
transforming from a dirty to a clean energy supply network.
Proclaiming
EGYPES 2024 is set to steer thought leadership in climate-conscious and
sustainable energy production, highlighting the multitude
of opportunities that arise from a responsible energy transition. Meanwhile desertification
continues apace. The oil producing nations can never hit
Net-Zero.
It's like saying water
desalination is climate friendly, when such practices
are terraforming the natural world.
Almost
the whole fossil
fuel industry is represented by over 35,000
attendees and 2,200 delegates.
Gain direct access to the primary stakeholders
involved in the region’s upcoming projects investing more than $1
billion in the oil and natural gas sector in the Western region
of Egypt. Whereas, decarbonization
should be the order of the day. Except, that Arabia and
Africa are already hardened to high temperature living.
Hence, will not suffer from forest fires like many other
nations.
Whereas,
having such vast deserts on your doorstep, begs the question
why is nobody investing in solar farms and hydrogen
production via electrolyzers?
Investment in fossil fuels might be counter productive, in
any argument for gentle transitioning, when investments are
going the wrong way.
Global
warming and the need to cool the planet should be the
first priority. With that fairly and squarely on the drawing
board, then, we might discuss change, but not before.
Otherwise, this show is more about delaying technology swap,
while extra $dollars are squeezed out, at the expense of
more towns burning in Canada and
Greece. That would be just
as unfair as not helping Arabia and Africa
to adjust technology wise.
You
may have noticed the Egypes agenda as published, is slanted
more towards mitigation, than transition. The good news
being that at least there is some adjustment of rhetoric.
The
land of the Pharaohs
and Pyramids
is an ideal location to meet and discuss using the vast
deserts as a resource to generate virtually unlimited electricity.
Egypt and surrounding nations literally bask in solar
energy. The land is steeped in historical wonder at the Sun,
as the giver of life, and provider of energy for crops to
grow.
